Dr. Leonard Proctor is a graduate of the University of Michigan and received his MD degree from the Wayne State University. After completing his Otolaryngology training at the University of Chicago, Dr. Proctor practiced privately for a time, but in 1976 he became Associate Professor of Otolaryngology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where he was teacher and mentor to Drs. Gehris, Loch, and Marks. His particular subspecialty interest was in dizziness and balance disorders, and ear diseases generally. His publications include "Serial Vestibular Testing in Meniere’s Disease" (American Journal of Otology, 2001), and "Postural Vertigo: Differential Diagnosis and Treatment", delivered as a lecture to the Maryland Society of Audiology, October 2001.

Dr. Proctor has been honored by membership in the American Triological Society, an organization whose membership recognizes excellence in clinical and research aspects of otolaryngology.

Dr. Proctor has interests in Golf and Tennis and still returns at vacation times to Michigan.
